You are entitled to all the following Maternity benefit

Maternity benefits:

You are entitled to receive full wages (100% of your average daily wages) for up to 26 weeks for pregnancy and confinement, which can be extended by one month on medical advice. To qualify, you need to have contributed for at least 70 days in the preceding two contribution periods.

Here’s how the benefit applies:

  1. For confinement (up to 2 surviving children): You can receive maternity benefit for up to 26 weeks, with no more than 8 weeks before the expected due date. You’ll need to submit Forms 17, 18, 19, 20, and 21.
  2. For more than 2 children: You will receive maternity benefits for up to 12 weeks, with no more than 6 weeks before the expected due date.
  3. For commissioning or adopting mothers: You are entitled to 12 weeks of maternity benefit from the date the child is handed over to you.
  4. After miscarriage or Medical Termination of Pregnancy (MTP): You are entitled to 6 weeks (42 days) of benefit.
  5. For illness related to pregnancy or premature birth: You can claim up to one month of benefit with Forms 7, 8, 9, and 10.
  6. In case of death during childbirth: If you pass away during confinement, the benefit will be paid to your nominee.
